I recently read a great article by Mary Holden on ACEs Connection that discusses how the current Coronavirus(novel COVID-19) pandemic can lead to stress-related trauma for everyone, in addition to our own ACEs and lived experiences.  It’s important to know that stress-related events have the possibility and power to become traumatic experiences. Over the course of the last few weeks with more people being cautioned to “shelter in place” and stay-at-home, there has been a jump in countless YouTube videos, blogs, and Twitter feeds sharing how to stay positive in light of the current health pandemic and bring more acuity to the importance of mental health now in times of self-isolation and social distancing.

As we move through these unusual times, it is important to reach out to those around us and continue to ask after those who are closest to us; in our neighborhoods and communities.   While we are focused on looking after ourselves and being self-contained in our daily routines, we should still be selfless in our actions and decisions. Smile. Be Compassionate. Be Kind. Be Sensitive of others.  And lastly, stay health and safe and challengey ourself to do something fun, heartfelt, or one random act of kindness each day.
