BARBARA BURCOPE

Barbara Burcope is a retired human resources executive with over 30 years of leadership experience in health care, consumer electronics, logistics and telecommunications. 

Barbara most recently served as Senior Vice-President of Human Resources at Trimedx, a leader in clinical asset management for the healthcare industry. She doubled as Chief Responsibility Officer as an executive on the Corporate Compliance Team. She also served as a member of the senior executive strategy team, reporting directly to the President/CEO.

Barbara has expertise in many key areas of human resources: talent and leadership development, organizational development and design, strategic planning and compliance. 

The focus of her corporate career has been the creation of foundational infrastructure to increase shareholder value and realize long-term visions, particularly in entrepreneurial environments. 

Although Trimedx is for-profit enterprise, the company springs from Ascension, one of the leading Catholic and non-profit healthcare organizations in the United States. As such, Barbara was central to building an ethics-centered culture at Trimedx. 

Barbara has worked closely with top not-for-profit executives of Ascension and has been active and involved in the Trimedx Foundation.  

Barbara is a graduate of Purdue University and did graduate level study of special education at Indiana University. Her primary interest is human development. Her person-centered goal for all employees and stakeholders is to “leave better and more fulfilled than they arrived.” 

Barbara lives in Carmel, Indiana, outside Indianapolis. She is married with 3 adult children and 3 adult stepchildren. She is an avid athlete and traveler who enjoys volunteer work, such as mentoring for Dress for Success, a global not-for-profit organization empowering women through economic independence.
